Samuel Gitahi
Sam is an aquatic ecologist with a passion for working with communities to manage wetlands and their catchments. He supports catchment health projects in the region including the Waterwatch program and previously also facilitated local engagement for the MDBA. With a MSc in Environmental Science and a BSc in Fisheries, Sam has over 20 years' experience working with local communities, government and the United Nations in community-based wetland and natural resources management. Prior to his current role, he was a water project officer with the South Australian Arid Lands Landscape Board supporting management of the GAB springs. Sam is originally from Kenya where he worked as a monitoring officer for the Lake Naivasha Ramsar site and as a wetlands coordinator at the National Environment Management Authority.
