Robin Thwaites
Dr Robin Thwaites is a Senior Research Fellow at Griffith University’s Precision Erosion and Sediment Management Group. He is a soil scientist / geomorphologist with experience in land resource mapping, assessment, and management in agriculture and forestry. He has specific interests in landscape development, regolith studies, erosion processes, and soil and land classification.
Robin’s research has covered soil survey and classification, digital terrain analysis, soil erosion modelling, forest site analysis, and land use planning both in southern Africa and Australia, as well as digital soil mapping and modelling, forestry site assessment, and mine-site rehabilitation in NSW and Queensland.
Robin also has extensive university academic experience convening degree programs in Land Resource Science (UQ) and Environmental Science (QUT) and is currently teaching in the Masters of Catchment Science at Griffith University.
